This is an unusual and massive ivory carving with five carved and scrimshawed walrus heads with thick tusks that graduate in size. The undersides are scrimshawed with various scenes of Eskimo life. One has men in umiaks with sails hunting whales and a large whale being pulled ashore by a line of men pulling on a long line. The other side has a village scene with a figure suspended above a group who have tossed him into the air. The tusk has been restored. About 1 ½" of the end of the tusk was broken off and missing and a replacement end was made.
